1. BOOKING AND PAYMENT
A booking covers the entire agreed course, term, or lesson. A binding agreement is formed when the customer accepts the STS offer to participate, either verbally or in writing. The booking entails payment liability even if the customer fails to attend, does not pay the invoice, or changes their mind about participating. In the event of non-payment, STS may, after a reminder, offer the spot to another player without the original payment liability ceasing. Compensation is determined according to point 3. Payment must be made no later than the due date. Default interest and permitted fees will be added in accordance with the law. An annual membership fee of SEK 210 is added for term training, but not for private lessons or camps.
2. NEW TERM
Existing players are generally given priority for the next term. However, priority is not a guaranteed right, and STS reserves the right to freely allocate and offer training spots.
Each term requires a new booking or a new confirmation. No automatic renewal applies.
3. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
Group Training
Bookings apply to the entire course period. STS does not offer a right of withdrawal or voluntary refunds. Upon cancellation, the customer's right to the spot ceases, and STS may immediately offer it to another player. The customer has no right to resume training without a new agreement. Cancellation does not release the customer from payment liability. STS is entitled to reasonable compensation for training provided, costs, and financial loss, up to the full course fee. Revenue from a replacement player will be taken into account in the calculation.
Absence does not entitle the customer to make-up sessions. STS does not offer any specific voluntary refunds for illness or injury, not even with a medical certificate.
Private Lessons
Cancellations or rescheduling must be notified to info@swedishtennissociety.com at least 48 hours before the lesson starts. For later cancellations or no-shows, the full lesson fee will be charged. If the lesson is part of a training package, the session will be considered used and will not be replaced.
4. COACHES, GROUPS, AND TIMES
STS has the right to temporarily or permanently change coaches, alter group compositions, merge groups, and make reasonable changes to training times and facilities, even during an ongoing term. This applies, for example, in cases of coach absence, too few participants, court shortages, or changes to facility bookings. The booking does not guarantee a specific coach or specific fellow players, unless otherwise expressly agreed. These changes do not in themselves entitle the participant to a refund or free cancellation if equivalent training is offered.
5. CANCELLED AND RESCHEDULED TRAINING SESSIONS
In the event of cancelled training, STS may offer a substitute coach or an equivalent make-up session, even after the end of the term. Changing to another qualified coach does not count as a cancelled session. If the player is unable to attend a make-up session, no compensation will be provided.
6. CODE OF CONDUCT
Participants must behave respectfully and follow the coach's reasonable instructions. The following may result in a warning or suspension:
- Threats, violence, aggression, or harassment.
- Abuse, insults, or repeated disrespectful behavior.
- Behavior that disrupts training or creates a palpable sense of insecurity.
- Repeated refusal to follow instructions.
- Dangerous behavior, vandalism, or serious rule violations.
7. COACH AUTHORITY AND SUSPENSION
The coach is responsible for order during the training session and may, without management approval, issue warnings, interrupt participation, or dismiss a player from the current session. The following order normally applies:
1. Verbal warning
2. Written warning
3. Temporary suspension
4. Permanent suspension
In the event of serious violations, such as threats or violence, the player may be dismissed immediately. Longer or permanent suspension is decided by STS management following an objective assessment. The decision will be documented and communicated in writing. The coach may not use unauthorized physical force. When dismissing minors, safety and necessary supervision must be ensured.
8. REFUNDS UPON SUSPENSION
A paid course fee does not grant an unconditional right to participate in the event of serious or repeated misconduct. In the event of suspension due to a material breach of contract by the participant, STS offers no voluntary refund. STS is entitled to compensation for training provided, costs incurred, and economic loss, up to the full course fee if circumstances justify it. Any potential refund will be assessed according to law. STS may refuse future bookings in cases of objectively justified, serious misconduct, provided the decision is proportionate and lawful.
9. INJURIES, RISKS, AND LIABILITY
Participation involves the risks normally associated with tennis and physical activity. The participant is responsible for adapting their participation to their own health and ability, as well as following safety instructions. STS is not liable for personal injury, accidents, property damage, or lost belongings that occur without fault or negligence on the part of STS.
STS is also not liable for damages caused by the participant's own actions or by other participants, unless liability is established by law. The participant is responsible for their own insurance coverage.
10. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
According to Chapter 2, Section 11, Item 12 of the Distance Contracts Act (2005:59), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to time-bound leisure activities covered by the exemption. STS's time-bound tennis courses are covered by this exemption when the legal requirements are met. In such cases, the customer has no statutory right of withdrawal but may cancel in accordance with point 3. For other bookings, the statutory right of withdrawal applies where applicable.
11. OTHER PROVISIONS
The person making a binding booking is responsible for the payment of all spots included in the booking, even when the booking is made for other individuals. STS has the right to invoice the booker for the full amount, regardless of whether other participants fail to attend, change their minds, or do not pay. Statutory rights apply. Bookings for minors must be made or approved by a legal guardian. Cancellations should be notified in writing to info@swedishtennissociety.com. Disputes may be referred to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), where the board has jurisdiction, or to a general court. Mandatory Swedish consumer legislation takes precedence over conflicting terms and conditions.
12. DISPUTES
Disputes should primarily be resolved through dialogue with STS. If an agreement cannot be reached, the dispute may be referred to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), where the board has jurisdiction, or to a competent general court.
